Overview | Sponsorship | Schedule and Rules of Play | Directions

The tournament play is “shamble” format. All members of each foursome play the best ball of the four tee shots. Players move their balls to the spot of the best ball. From this point, the hole is played out at stroke play, with all members of the team playing their own ball into the hole. Shamble scoring for this event will be explained by the tournament director prior to tee-off.
All players must be registered no later than 11:00 a.m. and be stationed by their carts by 11:10 a.m. to ensure adherence to the tournament’s schedule. A boxed lunch will be provided.
Players are encouraged to warm-up and may choose to gain instruction at the pre-tournament clinic led by LPGA and FUTURES Tour pros. There is no additional charge for this unique opportunity. However, players who wish to participate must notify GPhA at the time of registration or by August 21 to reserve a spot.
For clinic reservations or information about hotel accommodations near the golf course, contact Jennifer Nguyen, at jnguyen@gphaonline.org or call 703-647-8787.
Typically, tournament play takes four and one half to five hours. The GPhA/ Project RESTORE reception and dinner immediately follows for all players. Prizes are awarded for the longest drive (male and female), closest to the pin, and the three top scoring foursomes. There is no additional charge to attend the dinner. However, in order to maximize the contribution to our charity we ask that players kindly RSVP so that we may provide for the appropriate number of attendees.
The dress code at the TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm requires traditional golf attire including a collared shirt, slacks or Bermuda length shorts. Denim of any kind, t-shirts, tank tops, cut-offs, tennis, running or athletic attire are inappropriate forms of dress for both the clubhouse and the golf course. Please note: Players must wear shoes that do not contain metal golf spikes.
