Welcome to the GPhA 2010 Annual Meeting! Each year, more than 500 attendees gather to gain insight on how the nation's most critical health and regulatory issues will impact the generic industry and the consumers who benefit from access to affordable medicines.

Our meeting attracts leading speakers from Washington, D.C., Wall Street, and across the globe. GPhA is pleased to announce that our agenda for 2010 includes remarks by Dr. Margaret Hamburg, the Commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. You won’t want to miss this important keynote address!

The Annual Meeting also provides insights from key industry CEOs, economists and financial analysts. Attendees come away with a comprehensive look at the generic medicines sector in 2010 and beyond.

The program agenda – combined with unparalleled networking opportunities – makes GPhA's Annual Meeting the generic industry event of the year.

2010 Annual Meeting Business Exposition

GPhA’s annual Business Exposition is a lively, highly interactive business environment, where key generic industry executives meet industry vendors in a relaxed, professional setting.

Building upon the success of prior years, we continue to offer our exhibitors more networking time with industry decision-makers by hosting refreshment breaks and breakfasts in the Expo ballroom, as well as the GPhA Business Expo Wine and Cheese Reception on Wednesday night.

One full plenary session pass and one Expo pass are included in the booth price. GPhA’s Business Expo sells out each year. Registration is limited to 34 booth holders with booth space selection based on the date of registration. See our web page highlight on the Business Expo for more details.

Networking and Social Events

As part of the 2010 Annual Meeting, GPhA will host a variety of exciting professional networking opportunities and social events. Our program includes a Welcome Reception, the Annual Meeting Reception and Dinner on the beach and a Farewell Party. These activities, along with a luncheon, breakfasts and networking breaks provide the ideal setting for relaxed, professional networking.

In addition, on Thursday afternoon, we host our GPhA Annual Golf Tournament. For the non-golfers, we offer a choice of Offshore Fishing in the Gulf of Mexico or the Kayaking and Eco Tour through the mangroves of the Everglades.

GPhA Annual Golf Tournament

Tee-off with industry colleagues on Thursday, February 18, for a wonderful day of golf. GPhA’s Annual Golf Tournament will be hosted at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, one of South Florida’s most prestigious golf facilities. The tournament will be played on Tiburon’s Gold Course, one of two, 18-hole championship courses which plays host to the nationally-televised “Shark Shootout.” Tiburon is located at the neighboring Ritz-Carlton golf resort, 12 minutes by car from the event hotel. Transportation and box lunch are provided. Space is limited. Early registration is recommended.

Tropical Bird Watch and Paddle Tour or Fishing Excursion in the Gulf of Mexico

Take advantage of our Annual Meeting’s exquisite waterfront location with one of these exciting activities, running concurrently with our golf tournament on Thursday afternoon.

Paddle your kayak through calm lake waters surrounded by mangrove trees as our expert guide points out a wide variety of exotic birds native to this lush, south Florida region. This two-hour tour of the beautiful ecology and wildlife of the Everglades is just 30 minutes from the hotel. This event was especially popular with last year’s attendees. Lunch is included. Space is limited.

Go fishing in the Gulf of Mexico aboard chartered fishing boats for snapper, grouper and barracuda. This year’s fishing event is for small groups of up to four people. Each group will be assisted by two, expert fishing guides. All boats are fully equipped with state-of-the-art fish finders and creature comforts for a day on the water. Space is limited.

Spouse/ Guest Event

The 2010 Annual Meeting Spouse/Guest Pass includes entry to all social events and meal functions as well as a special Wednesday morning event. This year’s Spouse/Guest event is a tour of the Edison & Ford Winter Estates in neighboring Fort Myers. A tour guide takes you through the 20-acre estate which encompasses the homes, gardens and inventions of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford, two of the most productive and successful businessmen in history. During this tour you will hear about the lives and endeavors of these two neighbors and friends. The tour includes Edison’s botanical garden containing more than five hundred varieties of plants imported from all over the world. Lunch is included.
